It was mid morning by the time we got into Prague. Once settled we decided to go for a walk on the Charles Bridge before lunch. This would have probably been a bit before noon.
As we got closer to the bridge all we could see were crowds of people everywhere, on the bridge as well as in the old town. It was not a great first impression of the city. All we wanted to do is get out of there at that moment and get back to the apartment. Did we make a mistake coming to Prague?
Thank goodness we are early risers as the next morning we discovered this absolutely beautiful, stunning city! Early in the morning practically no one was around and no matter where we looked we were taken back by this city’s beauty.
On route to Prague we decided to stop and stay a couple of overnights in Cesky Krumlov. When preparing for this trip we had read up on this small UNESCO world heritage town and we had been intrigued by what we read. Spending a few days there did not disappoint us.
From Vienna a private driver got us there in 3 hours. The driver kept us entertained with Czech music and political conversations. 😊
We stayed at Hotel Konvice. This is a small family run hotel with very few rooms but ours was HUGE .
We were happy to have stayed a couple of nights as many of the tourists left at the end of the day and this is when we got to truly appreciate this town’s historic charm.
